Frequently Asked Questions
Are these calculators updated for 2026?
Yes. All four calculators use official 2026 figures — the $33,810 RRSP dollar contribution limit, the $7,000 TFSA annual limit (with the full historical limits table back to 2009), the $74,600 CPP Year's Maximum Pensionable Earnings and $1,507.65 maximum monthly benefit, and the $742.31 maximum monthly OAS payment with the $95,323 clawback threshold.
What's the difference between RRSP and TFSA?
RRSP contributions are tax-deductible now but taxed as income when withdrawn in retirement. TFSA contributions aren't deductible, but withdrawals — including all investment growth — are completely tax-free. Both have separate contribution room that accumulates independently.
Do the CPP and OAS calculators cover the CPP enhancement (CPP2)?
The CPP calculator estimates the base retirement benefit. The newer CPP2 contribution tier (on earnings between the YMPE and the higher Year's Additional Maximum Pensionable Earnings) is not modeled, since it's still phasing in and adds limited benefit for most current retirees.
