Australia's personal finance system runs on Superannuation, HECS-HELP student loans, and the Medicare Levy — each governed by its own ATO rules, thresholds, and formulas that don't exist anywhere else. This page brings together every Australia-specific calculator on Your Calculator Hub, built around current official figures (the 12% Superannuation Guarantee rate, the $69,528 HECS-HELP repayment threshold, and the latest ATO-confirmed Medicare Levy thresholds) rather than generic formulas.

Also useful in Australia: several of the site's generic financial calculators — like Mortgage, Salary, and Compound Interest — work well for Australian numbers too. We've linked the most relevant ones below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these calculators updated for the current financial year?

Yes, wherever figures are already legislated: the Superannuation Guarantee (12%) and HECS-HELP thresholds ($69,528 minimum repayment threshold) both use official 2026-27 ATO figures. The Medicare Levy calculator uses the latest ATO-confirmed thresholds (2025-26), since Medicare Levy low-income thresholds for a new financial year are typically only legislated partway through the following one.

What's the difference between HECS and HELP?

HECS-HELP is the loan scheme for Commonwealth-supported university places; HELP is the umbrella program that also includes FEE-HELP, VET Student Loans, and others. They all share the same compulsory repayment income thresholds and rates, so this calculator applies to any HELP debt, not just HECS-HELP specifically.

Is the Superannuation Guarantee rate going to increase further?

No further increases are currently legislated. The SG rate reached 12% on 1 July 2025 after the final step of a long-running schedule of annual increases, and stays at 12% for 2026-27.
